ESPIRAL SPACES

A sixteenth-century Gothic building with an intensely rich history, the Convent dels Àngels has been the object of a respectful conversion conducted by the architects Lluís Clotet and Ignacio Aparicio. Belonging to Barcelona’s historical heritage, it is divided into several spaces, some of which can be counted among the most beautiful examples of Gothic architecture in the city.
CAPELLA
An incursion into the past hand in hand with the strictest contemporaneity. The Gothic chapel of the Convent dels Àngels brings a secular mystery to the MACBA spaces. As part of Barcelona’s historical heritage, it welcomes the visitor with its sober beauty; a hidden treasure in the midst of the city. It provides an exclusive setting for the celebration of events requiring a special environment.
FORUM
The Forum is a small Gothic nave with a magnificent vaulted ceiling and decorated corbels. Cosy and elegant, the Forum has the right dimensions for meetings, trade presentations and press conferences requiring a more intimate space. Closeness, with an upmarket atmosphere for small format celebrations.
SALA GRAN
Twined with the Capella, the Sala Gran or Main Hall enjoys direct access to the terrace and has outside views. The lightness of the glass windows, combined with the solidity of the vaulted ceiling and stone walls, creates a hybrid space, where tradition embraces contemporaneity without losing its magic and seductive character.
CONVENT TERRACE
Connected to the Sala Gran, the terrace of the Convent dels Àngels is a space recovered from the past and designed with natural materials. A chill-out space in a perfect setting to relax, unwind and talk quietly at the end of the day.
CONVENT AUDITORIUM
Located on the first floor of the old convent, with views over the Plaça dels Àngels and Plaça de les Caramelles, this is a complementary space ideal for events of different formats. Functional and extremely adaptable, it preserves the warmth of its long history. It is equipped with the latest technology.
